ICS 300: April 13th (6 pm - 10 pm) 14th & 15th (8 am - 5 pm)

Course Description:
ICS 300 - Intermediate ICS (Expanding Incidents & Supervisors) Required Pre

Requisites: FEMA ICS 100 and 200
Recommended: FEMA IS 700
ICS 400 - Advanced ICS (Complex Incidents, Command Staff & General Staff)

Required Pre Requisites: FEMA ICS 100, 200 & 300

Target Audiences: ICS-300, the third in a series of four Incident Command System courses, is designed for mid-level management personnel who will be serving in the following positions: Command Staff, Section Chiefs, Strike Team Leaders, Task Force Leaders, Unit Leaders, Division/Group Supervisors, Branch Directors and Multi-Agency

Coordination System/Emergency Operations Center staff.   

The target audience is all emergency responders including Fire, EMS, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Public Health, Public Works and other emergency support personnel as designated. 

Objectives:

*Explain how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents.
*Describe the incident/event management process for expanding incidents and supervisors as prescribed by the Incident Command System.
*Implement the incident management process on a simulated Type 3 incident.
*Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.
      
ICS-400, the final course in the Incident Command System series, is specific to personnel who will be serving in the following positions:

Command or General Staff in an ICS organization, select department heads with multi-agency coordination system responsibilities, Area Commanders, Emergency Managers and Multi-Agency Coordination System/Emergency Operations Center Managers.

The target audience for ICS-400 is all emergency responders including Fire, EMS, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Public Health, Public Works and other emergency support personnel as designated.

Objectives:
*Describe how Unified Command functions on a multi-jurisdiction multi-agency incident.
*Define the advantages of the Unified Command and the kinds of situations which may call for Unified Command.
*List the major steps involved in the planning process.
*Dissect issues that influence incident complexity and the tools available to analyze complexity.
*Review the primary guidelines and responsibilities of the command and general staff positions.
*Describe the purposes and responsibilities of agency representatives or technical specialists, reporting relationships and how they can be effectively used within the incident organization.
