 Volunteer Public Educators (Pub Ed)

Picture
Sparky the Fire Dog and friends
Pub Ed members present public safety and fire prevention education and activities to schools and community groups.  Pub Ed sponsors such programs as the AARP "55 & Alive" course to promote Senior Driver Safety; CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team) designed to help out in our community before, during and after a disaster; and Blood Pressure Clinics.  CPR Instructors provide CPR and First Aid classes to local citizens on a quarterly basis.  Public Educators also manage the Life Jacket Lending Program in conjunction with the McKenzie River Guides Association.

The Pub Ed team along with Sparky the Fire Dog is constantly promoting citizen welfare, safety and health.  New volunteer Pub Ed members are always welcome.

Volunteer Boosters

Volunteer Boosters are a group of community members who support the district.  The Boosters provide food and refreshment on extended alarms and burn-to-learn training exercises, organize an Awards Banquet for volunteers and host an annual fundraiser.  The Boosters give all proceeds for special equipment needs of the fire district.
To volunteer contact McKenzie Fire & Rescue by phone (541) 746-6312, by email mckenziefire@mckenziefire.com, or stop by the Walterville Station located at 38925 McKenzie Highway in Springfield, Oregon.
