McKenzie Fire and Rescue’s Volunteer Firefighter Association

Besides being a group of caring individuals who answer the call for help at any time of day or night – without pay, the organization is also involved in many other aspects of the community as well.  While most of their time is given serving the citizens in any way, shape or form, these volunteers also spend time fundraising, educating citizens, and participating in community events.  The Association holds its sole fundraiser – an annual “Fisherman’s Breakfast” with proceeds given to charitable causes.  The Association participates in community events manning first aid booths, furnishing educational materials, and providing fire truck rides.  The Association hosts seasonal parties for volunteers and their families.   Volunteers also dedicate several days during National Fire Prevention Week to educating school children about the dangers of fire.

Our volunteers are McKenzie Valley citizens who vary in age and gender.  Volunteers are people like you who care what happens to their neighbors and their community.  Come join us and meet great people that have a willingness to share their time and their skills.  To get involved in the department contact McKenzie Fire & Rescue by e-mail at mckenziefire@mckenziefire.com , by phone (541)746-6312 or stop by the Walterville Station located at 38925 McKenzie Highway in Springfield .  Contact the Training Officer by phone or e-mail sstraily@mckenziefire.com.
